Well, this week sure flew by, didn't it?
I can't believe that we've arrived at Friday already. I hope that everyone had a smooth week, free of bumps in the road. We do not need bumps! Of any kind!
Today I've got a reject for you... a card that didn't make the cut. I don't know if you attended my Avian Artistry class, where we "put a bird on it" several times over, but this was one of the cards I designed for that class, then pulled from the lineup as it really didn't showcase a particular technique. However, I still like how this turned out, and if you own the amazing Everything Eleanor stamp set (page 69 of the annual catalog), you might want to dust it off and stamp this pretty card.
As you can see, this is an asymmetrical gate-fold card (sorry it is flopping open a bit). All of the images on the card, except for the sentiment, are part of the Everything Eleanor set, one of my all-time favorite stamp sets. I will be hanging onto this set when it retires!
I stamped the flowers in Early Espresso ink on Soft Sky paper, then cut the flowers out by hand. The label shape was stamped in Crumb Cake on Whisper White card stock and also cut out by hand. The base of the card is Crumb Cake and the gate-fold is Soft Sky, embossed with the Beautifully Baroque embossing folder. I topped off the flowers with lots of pearls to give the card a bit more elegance. Wouldn't this make a lovely wedding or anniversary card? I just love the combination of Soft Sky and Early Espresso!

I'm hoping that you feel inspired to get out some stamps, ink, and paper and play for a while. Taking a little time out for yourself will do wonders for your mood, I promise!
