Sparkle Plenty

Hello there stampin' people!
Thanks for stopping by The Classic Card today!

I hate to mention it, but the weather report is starting to look like our extended Indian Summer is coming to an abrupt halt.  I wish the sunny days could go on forever, but I grudgingly admit that we need the rain.  If nothing else, it will provide an end to our astronomical water bills.  That green lawn out front takes a lot of "green" to keep it looking that way!  The patio furniture is now stowed safely in the garage, along with the outdoor umbrellas and the grill.  Sigh!  It was a great summer, wasn't it?

So now it is time to leave summer behind and focus on the upcoming holidays.  And today's card, with its holiday bling is designed to help you do just that.   Take a peek at some holiday sparkle...

Of course this photo doesn't do justice to the super-sparkly snowflake, but if you've seen Stampin'Up!'s Silver Glimmer paper, then you know how pretty this is in reality.  This pretty card was made by fellow demo Kory Keller.  I love her work and thought you would too.  Here's a very quick list of what Kory used to make this beauty:

Card stock:   Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Crumb Cake
Ink:    Cherry Cobbler, White Craft Ink ( for the smaller snowflakes stamped on the Cherry Cobbler)
Stamps:   "Merry" is from Snowflake Soiree ( page 5 of the Holiday Catalog)
Accessories:  Snow Flurry Die (page 14 of the Holiday Catalog), Decorative Label Punch, Woodgrain embossing folder (page 33 of the Holiday Catalog).

All of the elements come together nicely in her design, don't they?  You could use this layout for lots of other cards by changing up the colors and the sentiment and then substituting a flower for the snowflake. There are several options to choose from when a flower is just what you need.  The new Floral Frames Framelits ( page 191 of the Annual Catalog) make a great flower, as do the Blossom Party Originals Die (page 193) and the Fun Flowers Bigz L Die (also on page 193).

I hope I've inspired you in some way today... either in bringing in your outdoor furniture or in pulling out your stamps to make this pretty card!  Have a great Wednesday and I'll see you back here on Friday for more stamping fun!

Make the world a prettier place... stamp!
Susan
