Hello stampers and happy Friday!
Yay! The weekend is almost here... isn't that something to be happy about? Today's post will be a short one, as I have LOTS to do to prepare for two stamping parties this weekend.
The question today is "Are you ready?" Next Tuesday, Feb. 14th is Valentine's Day... are you ready to share a little love? If not, you have the weekend to make a few cards for family and friends. And the simple card that I'm about to show you would be quick and easy to make, so if you've been procrastinating, this might be just the card for you. Take a peek...
This card was designed by one of my talented fellow Stampin'Up! demonstrators, Birgit Schreiber. Isn't this a simple, yet adorable card? Great job, Birgit! We had fun making it at one of our monthly Stamp2gethers, where we gather for dinner, stamping, and sharing business ideas with each other.
I'll quickly go over the supplies we used.
The base card is Regal Rose card stock and the other colors are Melon Mambo (hot pink) and Whisper White. We used the Heart to Heart punch, page 210, to punch out hearts from the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Paper, page 183 of the big catalog. The Melon Mambo panel was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, page 219, while the white eyelet strip along the bottom was made using the Eyelet Border Punch, page 211. A piece of 1/2 inch Stitched Poly ribbon (p. 194) in Blushing Bride finishes the card off beautifully. The sentiment is from the fabulous Teeny Tiny Wishes set, on page 157. This set has EVERY possible occasion covered. It will be your "go to" set for sayings, because no matter what occasion you need, this set has the sentiment!
Oh, and just a thought.... you could easily make this a "guy" card by using a different color scheme. You might try Real Red, Basic Black, and Whisper White. Or you could go with different shades of blues or greens. Another combination I love (I'm sure I've mentioned this many times) is Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso with Very Vanilla. While you're at it, you could bake up a real Cherry Cobbler and serve it to your sweetie with some rich dark coffee!
OK stampers... I'm out of here! Have a wonderful weekend! I hope you'll take a few minutes out of your busy schedule to create a few pretty Valentines for those you love!
Happy Stamping!
Susan

A Bright and Happy Monday to All!
Hello Stampers! Thanks for stopping in today.
I'm sorry I was MIA on Friday, but I was busily working on the projects for my Fun Folds Card Class on Saturday, Feb. 18th at 10:30 am at my house. I'll be sending out an email later today with pictures of the cards. You aren't going to want to miss this class!
What a bright and happy Monday it is today! There's nothing like sunshine and blue skies to get the week off to a great start. And I've got a great bright and happy card to go along with the glorious weather!
Take a peek...
If you were at Cheri's party, you had the fun of making this card. If not, I'll give you a quick run-through of what we used to create this bright bit of happiness.
First of all, there's only 1 stamp on this card... the rest is all done with the magic of punches.
The "Be my Valentine" sentiment is from the "Delightful Dozen" stamp set, which can be admired on page 167 of the big catalog. What a versatile set this is... lots of good sentiments in delightful fonts.
The Designer Paper is a hostess selection (check page 11 of the big catalog) available only to hostesses. It will only take 8 of your hostess dollars to get this charming paper called "Cheerful Treat." The card stock colors are Pretty in Pink and Melon Mambo. The punches used are Heart to Heart (p. 210) Decorative Label (p. 209) and Extra-Large Oval (p. 212). That cute polka dotted ribbon can be found on page 195. It is Old Olive 1/2" Scallop Dot Ribbon.
OK stamping friends... that's it for today! I've got a looonnnnggg "to-do" list so I'm going to tackle it right now. Don't forget to come back tomorrow... I'll have another Valentine for you!
Enjoy the sunshine!
