Hurry up, Fall!

Hello my friends!  Happy Monday!

I just have one wish today... and that is for Fall to hurry up and get here!  I made the mistake of looking at the fourteen day forecast for Woodland and I was shocked by what I saw.  It was 109 yesterday and it will be 100 or above for the next TEN days.  It goes like this Monday 108, then 108, 102, 104, 107, 106, 106, 104, 100, 100.
After that, it goes down into the 90's.  Can you see why I'm hoping for Fall to get here asap???  I cannot wait for cooler weather!

I have a favor to ask.  I'm looking for people in the Portland area who'll need a house-sitter next summer.  If you or someone you know is planning a trip and needs a conscientious and responsible house-sitter, I would love for you to pass along their name.  If you know me, you know what a clean-freak I am.  I  would take extremely good care of any home entrusted to me.  John and I would be so grateful just to be able to escape this ghastly heat for a few weeks.

OK... enough about the weather!  Let's get to a card, shall we?
This is one of the cards we'll be making at my "Focus on Fall" stamping class, coming up this Wednesday, August 30th at 6:45 at my house.  Email me at sjrstamps@gmail.com if you'd like to attend.

This fun and non-scary Halloween card would be perfect for sending to children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, or any young-at-heart person who gets a kick out of wearing a costume and eating candy.  And to add to the fun, there's a surprise inside.  Take a look...

When the card is opened, a little pocket is revealed where you can stash some cash, a check, or a gift card.  The Very Vanilla panel is where you can write a brief note.  If you would like to have the measurements and directions for this easy, but cute gift card holder, please send me a quick email to  sjrstamps@gmail.com and I'll be happy to email them to you.

Now here are the details of the products I used:

Stamps:  Spooky Cat, #144749, $17.00 p. 53, holiday catalog
Note:  You can get this stamp set bundled together with the new Cat Punch for a 10% savings.  The bundle number is #146014, 31.50

Ink:  Basic Gray Archival Ink Pad, Basic Black Archival Ink Pad

Paper:  Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, and Very Vanilla Card Stock
Spooky Night Designer Series paper, #144610, $11.00, p. 53, holiday catalog.

Accessories:  The baker's twine I used was on the Clearance Rack, but I'm sorry to say it is now sold out.  It was probably snapped up by demonstrators like me who recognize a great bargain when we see one.  You can easily substitute some Solid Bakers Twine in Basic Black #141682, $3.00, p. 199 of the Annual Catalog.

Don't forget that you need to redeem your Bonus Days Coupon codes before the end of August.  The 31st is the last day, so don't wait any longer!  Also, the host code for August is
VRVSBRAW.  Please use this code when placing an online order for less than $150.  If your order is $150 or more before tax and shipping, do not use the host code.  Then you will receive the host rewards.  This code will be closed out at 9pm on August 31st.

Hope you liked my card today!  Thanks for visiting me at The Classic Card!  May the week ahead be a good one!  Please remember that a good week can be made into a great week if you take time out for YOU!   Sit in the shade and read a good book, go to the beach and sit in the sand, stare at the ocean and let the serenity sink into your soul.  Or take a different route to work and stop at a different coffee shop.  Any break in your routine will refresh you.  Best of all, get out some stamps, ink, and paper and create!

Hugs and happiness are coming your way!
Susan
