Well, here we are in November, but how did we get here so quickly? It seems like it was summer just a couple of weeks ago and I was wearing my sandals and capris and enjoying lots of sunshine. I know that it had to come to an end, Now that the rainy season is here to stay for a while, I'm planning to focus my attention and energy on the upcoming holidays that are quickly approaching. When I'm busy getting ready for Christmas, I won't be noticing the gloom outside my window quite so much.
For many people, November is all about working on becoming more grateful. I'm going to try the "30 days of gratitude"exercise too and write down what I'm grateful for each day of the month of November. The small everyday blessings that we take for granted ... a hot shower, a steaming cup of coffee, a drink of cold refreshing water, a warm home, a good meal, time spent with a friend... all are amazing blessings. When we stop our hurrying and busy-ness and take time to reflect on our blessings both great and small, our lives are refocused on what we have, not what we lack.

OK... enough philosophising...let's get to the card. Only today, it's not a card. Here, let me show you,
I made these little treat holders with my Envelope Punch Board (page 194 of the annual catalog). They are 3 by 4 envelopes with one side left unglued. These would be so fun to put by each plate on Thanksgiving, filled with some nice chocolates (Ghirardelli squares or Dove chocolates would slip into these easily). Who wouldn't love some yummy chocolate to take home after the Thanksgiving feast?
I used some of the beautiful Color Me Autumn Designer Paper for the envelopes, then used the "Grateful for You" stamp from the Merry Everything stamp set on page 13 of the holiday catalog. I stamped in Cajun Craze on Very Vanilla card stock,then punched it out with the matching Note Tag Punch (also on page 13). I then punched a mat in Cajun Craze using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch on page 221 of the annual catalog. Some of the 1 1/4 inch Burlap Ribbon (page 207 of the annual catalog) adds a nice fall texture to these fun little holders. You could also slip in a gift card or cash.
Oh, and let's dream a little, shall we? Airline tickets to Paris, or keys to a new car could also be slipped inside.
